Murano glass is a high quality product from Venice, with a long tradition. The glassblowers on the island of Murano transform it into various ornamental objects, but also into exceptionally refined beads. These are handblown and can be inlaid with 24kt gold, silver or white-gold. They appear in a broad spectrum of colours, in various combinations.

In the Venetian lagune, about 5 kilometers away from the main island, lies the small island of Murano. All Venetian glassfactories are concentrated here. They were relocated from the city due to a high risk of fire. Since the 14th century Venice is one of the most important centres of artistic glass production in the world. Initially glassbeads were produced to mimic gemstones. But over the years they have evolved into an artform.
